Author Topic: My mom is being really dodgy with my own money  (Read 1760 times)

So, basically, my money has been disappearing, and my mom has been acting really loving suspicious with it.
She claims that she didn't take it, yet whenever I ask for myself to receive it, she refuses. Like, my grandma sent us a check to cash with money for everyone, and she is being real dodgy with letting us access it. She says that whenever I do something stupid, she'll take out $5 out of my account and give it to herself, while leaving no definition of what "stupid" is. And whenever I receive money, she takes it and puts it away so I don't "lose it". But, when I ask for this money, she claims that she gave it to me when she in fact did not.
I want my money. Please help.
I've never actually touched the $100 I received via check.
tl;dr: I think my mom is stealing my money.

kill your mom
agreed
this is the only solution.
godspeed.

just to add, I posted this because she broke a barrier while arguing right now by mentioning her friends for no apparent reason, saying that they will take the child's money to pay off bills. bullstuff.

what do you want us to do...
talk to her about it, or at least your grandma

If your mom took money for being stupid you'd be broke a long time ago

my mother does take my money when she needs it, but she always pays me back so i don't see what the forget your mom is planning on doing if not paying you back after she has used said money.

I earn about 150/h tutoring rich 10 year olds. However, my mother always takes my earnings away and gives me only 5$ of it to spend, saying i'm too 'irresponsible' with my own money, even though I've been trying to save it. She said she deposited it into my HSBC account, but the balance has stayed the same for months on end. Whenever I ask her about it she says she's keeping it safe.

Also Setro, if you're under the age of 18, you're basically forgeted. She's your legal guardian.

how old is op
its your money. I mean, it's fine if she pays it back but it doesn't seem like shes planning on it.

3 years until I can backslash.

I don't get how people can just lie like that
why don't you stop tutoring?
