I don't think ADHD makes you a rapist to be honest.

i am imagining a feminist going on about how if you are a male and have ADHD it makes you a rapist right now
does that exist?

Nobody, but ADHD has nothing to do with that. Unless you are somehow stating that his ADHD led to him raping a kid.

"Officer, I swear. I have ADHD and was distracted and next thing you know it was in his bum!"

it will be on his permanent record
he wont be able to go to college or get a good job besides working at mcdonalds
This. Also, depending on the state, they may also list him as a love offender which means no phone or internet access for a period of time, not allowed to live or be present in certain areas, and a label placed on any form of identification. His life is essentially over before it began.

yuck
i think it was his mom who caught him with it and actually called the police on him? (which is completely reasonable)
uhh no that's not reasonable??

why are the parents of so many people here complete richards??

Snitch ass brother

isn't the owner of the device legally at fault when this stuff happens if the child is under 18
it's technically not his computer or his phone, it's his parents' property. Therefore, legally speaking, the parents can be charged as love offenders.
(at least that's how it works in my state, don't know about others)

that sounds like a dumb law, does that only apply to cp?
what if some 16 year old steals his dads gun and go shoots someone? is the dad responsible for that?

Not really. In that case, ownership over the weapon isn't the case; It is the possession and the person possessing it.

With child research, the owner of the device is at fault. The parents could easily be evil and try to evade being charged by planting on their son. It's immoral and a complete richard move, but that's the way the law works.

The parents are the legal guardians. They own the computer. They pay the phone bill. It's their device, and therefore, they are at FULL responsibility. I'm guessing in OP's case, they called the local police or something. In reality, they could be brought to court if somebody wants to get legal and sue
