Parricide is only fun in the greek myths
oedipus rex -  what a riot!

regular people drop their spahgetti
but chomos and child enthusiasts drop their cheese pizza.

The parents are the legal guardians. They own the computer. They pay the phone bill. It's their device, and therefore, they are at FULL responsibility. I'm guessing in OP's case, they called the local police or something. In reality, they could be brought to court if somebody wants to get legal and sue
no because that doesn't make any sense whatsoever
responsibility is not determined by who legally owns something, it's determined by who broke the law

the parents are probably in trouble too but im sure its way worse on my friend

A boy who used to hang out with my group of friends at school (but I honestly didn't like him or consider him a friend at the time) was recently arrested for paedophilia.

He pleaded guilty to soliciting love with a boy under the age of 16 (what age I don't know), as well as downloading and distributing child research.
He's being sentenced next month.
He's only 20, the loving idiot. He's thrown his life away.

If the parents were going to be charged with some sort of crime it wouldn't be for the crime committed by the child unless they directly contributed to the execution of it. Buying the child a computer is not grounds for that in the eyes of any moderately sane prosecutor. If they were to be charged it would be with a secondary crime such as failure to supervise your child or neglect.

He should have at least waited until 45 to throw it away!

Snitch ass brother

isn't the owner of the device legally at fault when this stuff happens if the child is under 18
it's technically not his computer or his phone, it's his parents' property. Therefore, legally speaking, the parents can be charged as love offenders.
(at least that's how it works in my state, don't know about others)
Are you saying someone under 18 can't own their own stuff? What if they worked for the money, and spent their own money on a computer? It would be the property of the child, right?

then he wasn't arrested for child enthusiasm
he was arrested for imminent child molestation

nope

what if some 16 year old steals his dads gun and go shoots someone? is the dad responsible for that?
i believe they get some punishment, yeah

do parents not realize that calling the cops on their kids puts it on their criminal record which would probably prevent them from getting a decent job? like isnt the whole point to raise your kids to get them good grades in school so they can go to a good college and get a good job? you're basically pushing the opportunity away from them because they did one illegal thing like kids do stupid stuff all the time

it will be on his permanent record
he wont be able to go to college or get a good job besides working at mcdonalds
Permanent records and juvy records are sealed by the age of 18 or when they are considered a legal adult. Which means they are only viewable via court order or under unique circumstances which would probably bore you.

Actually, in order to have a criminal record you would have to be brought to court, tried, proven guilty, and then be convicted.

that sounds like a dumb law, does that only apply to cp?

Is the gun locked away? Is is properly stored? or is not locked and possibly within reach or of easy access to the kid?

good point didn't think about that

calling the police on your son is reasonable??
If you were my dad, and you found I had CP, would you call the police?
