Author Topic: Website hosting, ideas?  (Read 1713 times)

I'm currently looking at google domains and thinking about purchasing a domain from there and even use their hosting.

Is it a good idea?

What is a good website host? Domain isn't required since I'll eventually get that.

12 bucks a year for a .com domain?? holy stuff

Not available in my country yet :'(

this isn't hosting, it's just for registering domains. you still have to have a separate web host
but yes this is good. I transferred my domain from godaddy to this a couple of months ago

I don't even like .com domains
I'd suggest something like .net, or .us if you're united statesican

can you hide your personal information on whois if you use a .us domain?

i went with a .com instead of a .com.au because you can't hide your details with .com.au

can you hide your personal information on whois if you use a .us domain?
just don't use your real info in the first place

you can't

just don't use your real info in the first place
it's illegal to do that

For hosting you can still go with google at https://cloud.google.com/

You can report people if they do not provide accurate registration information.

just don't use your real info in the first place
against regulation over here at least

it also exposes you to the risk of losing ownership of the domain should someone challenge it

How much would it cost for an average amount for hosting? I see it's free for 60 days until you have to pay.
