Author Topic: Good PC $1200 or under?  (Read 758 times)

I want to write school papers (least of my concerns), and I want to game with FPS framerates on games 30 or higher with max settings. Complete and custom builds are fine.

That shouldn't be that hard to find one with that budget

with 1200 you can make a pretty solid gaming computer

That's a really solid budget for a build, if you aren't buying a monitor.

you might get a toaster at best

you can get a GREAT pc for $1200. You could probably go down to $1000 and get 60fps on max on most games.

laptop or desktop?

all I'm trying to find is, a good chipset for a video card, a matching motherboard, and a decent case that doesn't overheat. The rest, I can find myself.

I FOUND ONE!!1!!!11!!1!!!

It's somewhat similar to jonnymans build, but I toned down the CPU and RAM in favor of a better GPU and a boot/games SSD. It also has a better power supply and case.

Drop the i7 to an i5 (the only difference is hyperthreading, which doesn't help gaming) and put the ~$100 saved towards a 980 instead of a 970
