Author Topic: ugh just had to kill a second rattlesnake this month  (Read 5135 times)

it was pretty disturbing. a few weeks ago a snake got into the house and i had to kill something large in self defense for the first time. i dont like killing sentient things so it was pretty tramautic, especially due to the abnormally large amount of blood from the nessessary decapitation. i was told the normally dont bleed like that but the image gave me rather disturbing dreams. well just yesterday another snake got in and i wasnt able to get a clean whack on the base of its neck and instead had to beat the poor thing to death. ughhhhh

so yeah, how was your summer, blockland?

I imagine you live close to the outskirts of LA or somewhere in the city has a snake habitat. You could try getting one of those and relocating them to the outside.

I once left our pet chickens free ranging and went back in the house without properly latching the fence where our golden retriever spends the day. She nosed her way out and had fun. I don't remember why I went back outside later, but when I did I immediately felt sick at what I saw. The dog was lying in the grass outside the fence gnawing on the neck of one of the birds. The bird was still alive too, so my dad shot her. I was traumatized for a good two days afterwards.

eat your dog

...your dad killed your dog because she grabbed the chicken......?

He should've been proud of it because golden retrievers retrieve prey.

Heres one rattlesnake you can't kill.

He shot the chicken

The only reference to "She" is the golden and he stated that his dad shot her so...

...I think the canine went byebye.

Those moth pictures tho, now I feel like something is crawling on me

It makes more sense for the dad to shoot the chicken tho, look at the sentence:

The bird was still alive too, so my dad shot her
The bird was alive, so the dad shot her. Meaning that if it was dead, it wouldn't have been shot. I don't see what the bird being alive or dead has to do with the dog's fate, but it all makes sense if it was the BIRD who got shot, because it was suffering. Another thing, is that "the bird" is the subject of the sentence, and the predicate is "my dad shot her". "Her" has to refer to a previously introduced subject, and while the dog is a her, the bird is the subject of this sentence, not the dog. Also the bird was the most recently introduced subject, which is another reason why the her is referring to the bird.

Or just because when we say chicken we almost always mean hens, which are female, not roostererels.
And you often shoot dying animals.

Somehow I read "this month" in the title to "with mouth"
It made this thread was much more disturbing
