Author Topic: I will never understand how after effects works  (Read 1044 times)

This is not bullstuff about how I do that or this edit or whatever. I mean, exporting (or rendering) is like a total bullcrap. So I rendered a simple 4 min video in .avi and it had a 41Gb file size. I was like "bruh". I couldnt even play it on my pc because it was so big.
I rendered it again in .flv format it is was only 55Mb... 55Mb!
I mean like
41Gb to 55Mb
What the forget AE? Thats handicapped and you know it.
/discuss other stupid stuff software sometimes does

compress it hardcore and make it the best as possible yeah im pretty sure thats how it works out

You dolt, you have to send it through Adobe media encoder if you don't want an uncompressed AVI file.

compression
No stuff
But compressing a 41Gb video to a 55Mb video is huge. And nearly any quality was lost

Oh I get it now.
Punch it.

ae only renders my clips at 1gb, which really isnt an issue but the thing is i cant use all of the RAM i actually have (because of windows 7s stupid forgetin gay ram cap) which means i cant use internal RAM preview (or i can, but it has to be on the lowest quality setting and even then it only renders a couple frames) which means i usually have to render nearly 20 versions of the same clip till i get the results i want

for every project ive done so far

 :panda:

i bet id get a lot of space back if i deleted my entire ae folder

Seems like something usefull. Ill be sure to check it out later. Thanks

wow PLEASE
export in mp4 and make sure to turn the bitrate right up
then you get nice quality low size videos
you don't need to run it though an encoder

.avi has a big file size because that's basically raw video you dolt

You cant export as MP4 in after effects. Or I didnt see it in the list.
