stuff that's outdated? To debug stuff, the last thing you need is a complex system to show the error code. A simple buzzer is much cheaper and more efficient.

I can memorize buzz code standards. As a computer tech that is beneficial. I cannot memorize 100 loving hex codes of stuff for little to no gain.

When a customer comes in with one of these "advanced" pieces of stuff, I dont have their motherboard manual. It can quite easily complicate my repair process by 5 minutes. And that is 5 minutes that both me and the customer would rather have.

yeah just take it to a local computer shop
if it just forgeted your OS they can usually fix it for 50 bucks, maybe 100 at the most

Minimum charge for anything at the shop I work in is $80. I actually worked on a similar case today, that repair cost $130.
