Author Topic: Steam is "deprecating" MAC OS X 10.6 in November  (Read 3016 times)

aren't OS X updates free? this doesn't seem like that big of a deal
why is deprecate in quotes
because he didn't know what it meant
but still made a thread anyway? that's ridiculous but whatever

MacOS 10.6.8 represents 0.06% of the steam user base as of September 2015

i don't think valve should be so self-deprecating.

have some confidence y'know

This is the weakest excuse I've seen for Apple bashing on this forum.
Apple's update policy is "Let's Be As handicapped As Possible."

A year ago or so, they forced a new policy onto all Apple Store apps that iOS 4 is no longer supported. Even if the apps are really loving basic like a newsreader, they must actively block themselves from being run on iOS4 or lower. The only reason for this change was to get more of their customer base to upgrade to newer devices. This is one of the reasons why I switched to Android and have not looked back since.

"I like to run Windows 95" is basically what would be the only reason someone would have iOS 4. Like, what the hell, why are you even complaining about that? Apple shouldn't have to support a 5 year old OS.

Did they specifically say that it was because they could get more people to upgrade to newer devices? Also, why stick with outdated stuff anyways?

I don't understand how this is apple's fault.

Dumbasses looking for a way to stuff on anything that they don't understand or don't like because they feel that if they don't understand or like it nobody else should.

Because there was literally no problem with all of the apps that I manually modified the software IDs for so I could get them to work on my jailbroken iOS4 device. Some of us aren't made out of loving money like Apple would have you believe and some of us only can afford to buy new devices every few years, not every single week.

I'm pretty sure the "trade in old stuff for new stuff" existed back then. And way to answer my other question.

I'm talking about right now, you cunt. Even if you trade in, you still have to pay additional money to get the phone/iPod/whatever. I don't have any spare loving cash.

I hope you realize that a lot of carriers have yearly plans that prevent you from buying new devices without paying full price. And that Apple introduces new products on a yearly basis because people buy the devices at different intervals. I.e. AT&T has a 2 year program and if I had an iPhone 5s and wanted to upgrade, I'd have to wait till the 6s. A new product is available to me to upgrade if I so chose. I don't have to wait for the new version to come out after my time limit. No one is asking you to buy their new product. Its there because some people do have money.

No need to get mad.

glad I got 10.7 then
Umm, there is such thing as El Captian 10.11 now?
Wait, some Macs can't update that high...
nvm
