i will once i get my irc client set up, but i don't want to idle on a web client :(

empires are so last millennium

federation forever

both of u authoritarian and totalitarian factions are old
godspeed to the alliance

so i haven't played in like 6 months, can someone bring me up to date

i know there are now wings or some stuff which are like clans/squads i guess?

what the hell is powerplay?

At the moment I have a neat Viper mostly for combat, and i think i'll go for an ASP for exploration and cargo stuff

conflict zones seem like the best way to make money by combat currently, i can make like 200k in 30 minutes

find a Resource Extraction Site (RES), you can make much more money bounty-hunting. try to go to a regular RES, or high RES if you're feeling lucky. stay away from the hazardous RES from now, you're most likely not ready for those yet

In Powerplay, you can participate in an ongoing battle for interstellar conquest and control. As an ally of your chosen Power, you will be able to guide their strategy, take on special objectives to advance your shared cause. Your choices and actions will have a direct and visible impact on the balance of galactic power.

Alright, sounds good. I'm tired of mindlessly spinning around a viper holding down one button waiting for it's shields to go down anyways.

Cant get easier money

yes u can: bounty hunting. Frontier nerfed all the good smuggling missions
also i would just like to say here: imperial slaves are way more ethical in a sense than slaves from the federation

About Imperial Slaves:
***********************
Individuals that align themselves with the Federation, Alliance - and indeed Independent pilots, often have a tragic misunderstanding of IMPERIAL Slaves. It seems that these individuals' negative view on slaves reflect the situation in the Federation, rather than the Empire. They then use these ill-informed opinions on choosing allegiance against the Empire - to their great loss.

Here then, an opportunity to EDUCATE yourself and stop with rhetorical nonsense:

Imperial Slaves are indentured* and CHOOSE to become Imperial Slaves. It is a mechanism, offered by the Empire, that provides a safety net for its citizens. They are valued for their many skills, loyalty and work ethic.

Individuals can become Imperial Slaves for many reasons. Primarily, these revolve around finances. Instead of suffering the humiliation of becoming homeless and being debt-ridden, Imperial Slaves CHOOSE to sign a contract for a specified time, during which they will work to pay off the debt. Normally, they do not earn an income as such, but in many cases, may earn a stipend that covers personal expenses and luxuries.

Sometimes, an Imperial citizen might want to relocate to a different planet, due to civil unrest, or whatever reason that compels them. Since they might not have access to starships, they would sign a contract to serve as an Imperial Slave, in payment for the relocation costs, a home in the new system and a "Vita Nova Pack", which includes many essentials for everyday life for their families when relocated.

During their time as Imperial Slaves, individuals' families are taken care of as well, and children are given an education. Some children even get to go on Imperial field trips, see the cosmos and learn about Stellar Cartography.

An individual serving as an Imperial Slave will learn many valuable, and transferrable skills during their service. These skills then enable them to find gainful employment once their service to the Empire ends. Jobs commonly taken by former Imperial Slaves include (but are not limited to) Engineering, Hospitality and construction - some are even able to purchase their own ships, with which to make their fortunes.

In no cases are children required to become slaves. There are strict laws that govern the treatment of Imperial Slaves and set out decent, humane working conditions**. Imperial slaves are people who have pride, self-respect, and have kept their honour in the face of adversity.

Many Imperial Slaves serve various functions on board starships and are well-respected by those they work for.
The Federation just locks people up, or leaves them homeless if they're in debt!

* INDENTURED definition: A person under contract to work for another person or government, for a definite (limited) period of time. Instead of payment, these persons work, in order to pay off debt, or to pay for passage and relocation to a new planet. Part of the contract, includes shelter, food and work once they reach their new home. On Earth, during the seventeenth century most of the white labourers in Maryland and Virginia came from England as indentured servants.

** Clearly, as with all things in life, there are exceptions to the rule. There are those who mistreat their Imperial Slaves, but they are dealt with by the Law.

if i had to choose between the federation and the empire, obviously i would go with the empire. knowing this information helps me feel better about imperial slaves, heck. but as obvious, i am aligned with the alliance so~

I've pledged to A. Lavigny-Duval and totally not just because she gives the best bounty hunting benefits
