Japanese defense contractors create the Howa Type 89 assault rifle, with a retractable stock

I don't want another player to in turn control all of my military.

Saudi Arabia traditionally only aided by providing military access to prove their own interests, not to be the bitch of a good friend.

(this is not saying i don't trust operator, i'm still sticking for the ride, but if i see any sight of his plan not working im hopping boat and making peace with iraq)

Japanese banks are loaning to outside countries

Saudi Arabia demands that Japan stops militarization against its constitution, or it will recommend another American occupation. It cuts all oil exports to Japan until retributions are made. They aren't policing, they feel Japan could be a threat to interests in Asia if they pull another Empire dream, especially considering they temporarily invaded Taiwan with absolutely zero military.

And Japan is, realistically, like the 3rd largest consumer of oil, especially Arabian oil. "Japan is primarily dependent on the Middle East for its crude oil imports, as 83% of Japanese crude oil imports originated from the Middle East in 2012, up from 70% in the mid-1980s. Saudi Arabia is the largest supplier of oil to Japan, making up 33% of the import portfolio, or over 1.2 million bbl/d of crude oil." http://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=13711

Saudi Arabia uses OPEC influences to attempt to further restrict Japanese oil imports.

Yeah, I just meant in terms of anything deployed in relation to the Iraqis.

Japan instead relies on synthetically produced petroleum products

Iraq is the one attacking you, friend, and you've already dedicated forces. I doubt he'll be very forgiving and appeasement has a track record of failing in the past...

Ah, of course....................... .............

That isn't a switch you can immediately rely on. You have to begin to exponentially increase coal and natural gas imports (and guess where that comes from, an OPEC member). Your economy will become crippled. Then you'd have to actually build the plants to make the products. And then your gas companies will have to invest in these technologies. Then they'd have to import the new fuel, nationwide, differently. While having to lay off people and while losing money, because now they have no crude oil to make into the economy-running life blood of capitalism.

And I was dumb for actually blockading your black gold, let's just exponentially raise the prices I am trading to you by 3.

I am not going to properly allow a Japanese military movement in my own continent using oil.

ok ok jsdf backs down and funding is cut.

" although Japan maintains de facto armed forces, referred to as the Japan Self-Defense Forces"

article 9 of Japanese constitution.

Japan focuses on it's own infrastrucutre and transportation.

That is still against your constitution, but as long as its a defense term, you'll probably get it.

Know that I'll trade normally with you in 2 years time unless US steps in and says to give relief.

it is a defense term
Still not allowed kek, but I mean as long as none of your citizens sued the government, which I am surprised no one has done yet.

I mean, he could import from South America. There's a lot of oil there besides Venezuela.

But I digress. Japan is allowed to maintain as big of a "military" as it wants as long as its called a defense force. The Japanese constitution is pretty awful and I would recommend the Japanese government amends it. With looming fears of big ching the Japanese citizens wouldn't mind some extra security.
