Japan takes the dissolving of the mutual defense pact as the signal to toughen it's armies defense corps.

By next year the re-interpretation of Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution will allow Japan to declare war only if the existence of Japan and it's allies, or in the event a Japanese citizen is murdered.
It, in sum, says "no declaring war lol we revoke it".

Saudi Arabia threatens to downplay Japanese oil once again.

Biofuel factories are now popping up across Saudi Arabia. Fresh algae and a fruit of a genetically/artificial selective engineered species of bacteria are put to use. Methane and other forms of biofuel, especially biodiesel, are being developed.
Strict regulations are put in place to sell the biofuel cheaper than any other nation on the planet, while government subsidies, primarily from crude oil and petrol profits, (well, I mean, like, Aramco is practically making these factories, so its more of a formality) are put in place to cover gaps. This is to, hopefully, keep crude oil, in concept, a key oil source.

It literally says "no declaring war lol we revoke it".
taken from Wikipedia :
"Reinterpretation in 2014[edit]

In July 2014, Japan's government approved a reinterpretation of this article despite concerns and disapproval from its neighbors. This reinterpretation would allow Japan to exercise the right of "collective self defense"[1] and exercise military action if one of its allies were to be attacked.[2] It is considered by some parties as illegitimate, posing a serious danger to Japan’s democracy since the Prime Minister circumvented the constitutional amendment procedure, dictating a radical change to the meaning of fundamental principles in the Constitution by way of Cabinet fiat without Diet debate, vote, or public approval.[3]

Toyota Japan patents an experimental prototype hydrogen engine

Japan also researches into alternative methods of fuel

This is 1990, with a populace sensing an inability for a Japanese government to control itself in regards to Prime Ministers going against the "constitutional amendment procedure".

Aka they are afraid, without any sort of actual events threatening Japan in the first place (this is 1990, before 2001), that Japan's executive power will go ahead and further wrongly interpret the Japanese constitution.

Besides, I am sure you pissed off the USA doing this, because they are (practically) the people who put that in your constitution to control any further Japanese imperialism and support Japanese democracy, which, like what I am saying, is being under minded.

Wouldn't be surprised that a citizen of Japan with suddenly an AMAZING set of lawyers sues the Japanese government.

>1990's
>"Hydrogen fuel does not occur naturally on Earth and thus is not an energy source; rather it is an energy carrier. As of 2014, 95% of hydrogen is made from methane."
>Methane still comes from Saudi Arabia.

No I am pretty sure that is an internal issue, my friend.

The US will remove all troops from Southeast Asia (except SK and Phillipines ) by 2000, they will also dissolve the mutual defense pact with Japan.

Have fun, PRC.

not a fan of the triple post but hydrogen engines have indeed been around  for the while

they aren't practical though

in fact, they're inherently impractical for multiple reasons

actually I take back the hydrogen engine thing and instead set research on electric car batteries

also doesn't Saudi just want the monies since you did say Japan consumed most of the oil Saudi oil made so......if you downplay Japanese oil exports you'll lose profit

The rest of OPEC gives Saudi Arabia the universal "what the forget" sign. They remind Saudi Arabia that Japan is on the other side of the planet and there is absolutely zero reason for them to give a forget about reinterpreting their constitution.

Did you miss the part where PRC?
