Shamchat.com is a chatting service where you can choose a name of your own to create a unique feel for chats, as you do not know who whoever chats with you will pick for their names next, who they are, or even sometimes who they might be roleplaying as.
"Is Shamchat.com just some stuffty roleplaying site with no pictures?"
Yes. Though you can try chatting with your friends (with the hashtag-specific chat feature). But mainly it's for roleplaying.

Hashtag-specific chat - Set the switch to on and enter a hashtag in the box below the switch.
Randomly generated character - This button next to the character name box allows you to generate a random character name from the list. There is a small chance that one of your previously used names for your session will appear.
