Author Topic: Should hunting stay legal or be made illegal?  (Read 2909 times)

Just if you do it responsibly, within season, etc. I don't care.

Personally I don't see an issue.  Hunting is actually a useful tool for keeping animal populations in check.

I hunt myself when I want to dine something fresh but I'd never do it for sport and sport hunters disgust me.

If hunting becomes illegal, I'm immediately leaving Pennsylvania. I'm not sticking around for the over-population of White-Tailed Deer.

I don't see why it should be illegal unless you're doing it to endangered animals

sport hunters are basically population thinners or pest control really

I really despise people who hunt for fun.

Population thinners are roadkills here. Lots of foxes and lizards get run over by cars around my place.

Down here in the south, which is like hunting central, we even had overpopulation of deer once.  Game wardens actually put temporary regulations in place making it so that you could only shoot does.  If you were caught with a dead buck you could be severely fined.  Kind of surprising that in a place where everyone and their mother hunts we still had overpopulation.

For those of you who are not educated on game hunting in the United States, there are regulations on hunting that restrict the hunting of certain animals to specific times of the year, and often there are weapon restrictions put in place for certain times.  For example there is a bow only deer season and then there is a gun AND bow deer season.  Also most people around here, although they hunt for sport, they make sure to use all of the deer they can.  After they find a place on the wall to hang the head, of course.

hunting is pretty important for controlling animal populations. i have relatives in the rural south that farm, and wild animals can wreck their crops if they aren't controlled, in addition to environmental dangers and other dangers to society. and it's definitely our fault in a lot of ways, but we can't let populations get out of control

did peta send you
like everyone else says
animal population control
so no

If it became illegal my town would riot harder than loving ferguson and L.A. combined. So please keep it legal so I dont end up having to run away from angry rednecks in giant pickup trucks while I try to scoot away in my tiny little subcompact car c:

Hunting is already very regulated with open seasons and permits and licenses and such. Hunting animals when you're not supposed to is already illegal, it's important for population control in many cases. Shooting an animal in the head is already a more human fate than any predator attack or factory death.
