Deer and other pests like dingos and black bears would overpopulate and cause problems in florida if we didn't hunt them. Isn't it black bear season now?

Also forget dingos and other wild dogs except for wolves, they keep killing our pets.

Population thinners are roadkills here. Lots of foxes and lizards get run over by cars around my place.

That's not population control, that's a problem.
Animals (at last larger ones) in such huge numbers are a hazard for drivers; population control aims to eliminate/reduce this (among others) problem.

while you are correct about the regulation of hunting, you'll be hard pressed to find a hunter that goes for the head.  It doesn't look good having a deer head on the wall that has a big ass bullet hole in it.

Good hunters would never intentionally aim for the head. If you shoot say, the jaw, for example, the deer could run away and end up starving to death. Resulting in a waste of meat, and a horrible death. I just filled up my freezer with the deer I just got.
