Author Topic: Astronomers may have found giant alien 'megastructures' near Milky Way  (Read 6808 times)

has anyone even thought about the fact that the light we are recieving from that star is hundreds if not thousands of years old. perhaps even millions.

whatever we are seeing is stuff from a very long time ago. if there are aliens there, its possible they've already packed up and moved elsewhere by now or died off.
the light we're observing has traveled for 1480 years to reach us. so what we're observing is 1480 years in the past.

Luckily the common masses don't usually choose where we fire the bombs.

Yep. Russia will fire first and then there will be hostility.

Diseases on our planet can't move freely between any species.
Why would an alien one be even remotely compatible?
Any disease they carry would be evolved to fight their immune systems, what we have would be completely foreign to it.

They believe that some STDs have been transmitted over from animals. I can't remember which ones, but not only that but Rabies commonly is transmitted through various species.

because i've looked into it many times
after i played rust and dayz for years, i stopped even confronting other players and just immediately attacked them
i benefit from their resources and i don't run the risk of having to trust or exchange with them
Because you respawn in video games. Therefore no one's afraid of consequences. You kill someone because it's a video game and it's fun. What's anyone gonna do? Kill you. But of course, you respawn and start again. Real life isn't like that. We wouldn't just immediately lash out at them because we're afraid of dying off.

I severely doubt that.

Plenty of diseases traverse species.

Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Bubonic Plague, etc...

I mean that we have no diseases that can effect anything.
These diseases had to evolve to work with what they do.

I guess we'll have to go all broken record on you, because you just don't understand.

oh no they're gonna suck the life out of the earth!!

Better hope they're friendly.
Or else we're gonna get forgeted by Aliens.
In terms of them blowing the stuff out of us because only ONE of us forgeted up badly.
rip

the star is 1481 light years away, we're seeing them as they are 1481 years ago. Who knows, the species might have gone extinct by now.

Whatever you loving do, don't let them see 4chan.

OH NO NOT THE EDGY IMAGEBOARD

are we still using 4cuck as the go-to example of the most depraved thing on the internet

The emperor said we must purge the filthy xenos from our rightful galaxy.
