Asking if they're 'legit' is a bit of a strange question. If nothing else, relationships at that age are practice at interacting with the opposite love/same love and serve as a great confidence builder.

That's not to say that high school relationships can't last though, I've been dating my 'high school sweatheart' for 4 years now and will definitely be marrying her. Will we ever get divorced? Who knows.
