Yes, and it was removed for no reason at all.

Needs more technic physics or simulated physics.
Add a whole new dimension of creating to blockland.

It was removed because it became a Gamemode, and is hidden away under "Start a Game".
It makes sense that it is where it is, but it's not necessarily intuitive for first-time players to find it.

It's also down at the bottom of the list of Gamemodes (because it's sorted alphabetically), so it's again not as instantly apparent.

Make a main menu tutorial to do "hi, blah, click start game, clock tutorial, SP, blah blah, ok, time to join a server, blah, etc., etc. have fun.

You contradicted yourself there. The point of a tutorial is for new players to do it first, so if they can't see it, it does not make sense that it is where it is.

It's among the other gamemodes, which makes sense, because it is also a gamemode.

But yeah, it doesn't make sense for it to be out of sight when it's the tutorial.

I don't speak for everyone, but often times people scan over the masterlist for something appealing to play, and if there isn't something that's interesting from the getgo they'll just log off

Server titles need to catch people's interest to gather traction
You make a very good point I do that very often.

Something that helps you set up how to play when you first launch like creating your name and avatar then learning how to play would be nice. As often as I accidentally hit that tutorial button and screamed it was useful to new people I'm sure.

It would be really cool to see the devs make a "throwback" update, where the games goes back to the good ol' days of v20. They should however, make the update optional.

And, split the already low population.

Nice joke.

Nice joke.

I do feel like something NEW needs to be added in order for players to start playing again.

I mean there really isn't that much he can add now, since a forgetton of addons exist.

putting this in big text because I feel like some people are missing an important point;
Before ANY big sales or anything that occurs that will attract more [new] players, the game NEEDS to be made more new-player-friendly.

Like seriously, this needs to happen if we don't want first time players (who normally walk into these games completely blind) to get confused, we need to make the game more friendly to new players. I've seen several ideas mentioned on how to do this, and want to drop my two cents on them.

Tutorial
Honestly imo the tutorial covers enough information to get players started. The problem is most of the new players don't know where it is. The tutorial button needs to be re-added.

Also; I suggest removing the multiplayer option for the tutorial to avoid confusion? What do you think?

Better, more attention grabbing (and fun) servers?
This isn't something that's easy, but I feel like the community should start pitching together to make some cool servers. They should also be a bit more new player friendly, like maybe a button that greets new players and gives them tips, simple stuff like that. idk just throwing out ideas, like Ike said we need more good, high-quality servers to keep players coming back for more.

Steam Workshop
New content is also a neat idea, but with the add-ons community it's not needed. What IS needed is Steam Workshop, since a lot of our new players are gonna come from Steam, it's a huge step in letting them modify their game easier!

Workshop is also a huge boost for the add-ons community too.

I also like a few of you, think that a new engine / entirely new game, would be a good option, but ISN'T going to happen. No one is going to revamp all add-ons and certainly badspot isn't going to take his indie game, which he made as a hobby(?), and totally redo it.

When I'm done with showering after martial arts (which won't be until 7:45ish I'll see if I can get to during after school clubs) I'll make a list of the most popular servers that aren't RPs, so we can use them as examples for good servers when telling people about BL.
Also, until it's added, we can all put a link to the add-ons board in our servers.
