Author Topic: should I join reddit?  (Read 2073 times)

Just use a subreddit to find stuff your interested in and stick to there. Some of the major non-political subreddits can be good, like photoshop-battles, writing prompts.

Heres photoshop battles: https://www.reddit.com/r/photoshopbattles/

And Writing Prompts: https://www.reddit.com/r/WritingPrompts/

My personal favourite being civbattleroyale (basically AI's battle it out and trying to see who wins): https://www.reddit.com/r/civbattleroyale

If you wanna find some others, just search on the main page.

make a darn reddit account dude!!! catch the wave, baby!!! hit those bytes hard!!!!!!!!

I tried doing reddit but socializing with people is hard on that website. On the biggest subs you have to practically be a wizard to figure out which threads are going to get popular because it's either do or die in the realm of >34k subscribers, and trying to have a meaningful discussion with people on a thread in a popular sub with barely any upvotes is trying to talk to a verbally inept dog on the other end of a cup and string.

On the other side of the spectrum, you have the small subs which have a more tight knit community but for some reason people who belong to a "fandom" subreddit are loving insane and their entire life revolves around what their subreddit is themed about. One time a guy asked for a richard pic because I replied to him that my favorite dungeon crawler was legend of grimrock.

All in all, you're better off creating an account to fine tune what content you browse rather than interact with people.
