Well technically,

The rednecks are centered around them

If you think about it

NASCAR deaths are extremely rare though, perhaps the rarest in any form of motorsport even though they drive some of the fastest cars. Those cars are built with heavy intentions on supporting the driver.

This is the kind of statement about it that I am ok with, saying it isn't your cup of tea.

Make me angry. It is 90% Mental and unlike most sports that require bulging muscles NASCAR actually relies on skill.

The only thing that comes to mind is baseball, MAYBE. Have you ever seen an athlete that didn't practice to build skill and won whatever competition he was in?

Yes but they don't get anywhere without muscle. In NASCAR everyone has an even playing field because no matter how tall or fat you are you can still win.

it may not be athletic but they sure have to be in shape to some degree

i mean i would venture to guess that it isn't easy to sit in a 110 degree or hotter tiny uncomfortable box for hours on end while you rack your brain on how to win

The ignorance is real. I raced stock cars for 4 years and it's absolutely exhausting, both mentally and physically. Going 120 miles per hour, fighting massive g-forces that feel like 5 fire extinguishers are being hung from your head and vigorously fighting a steering wheel for such long persiods of time are all very physically demanding. Oh yeah and not to mention its upwards of 120 degrees inside the car the entire time.
