Author Topic: Looking for people to work on a weapon pack with  (Read 4276 times)

If I didn't have my own projects, I'd be glad to help, this pack seems like it has a lot of potential, and nice model.

Although I won't be able to provide a coder for you, might I suggest looking at example scripts and experimenting a bit?
Bushido's Tier+Tactical weapon pack includes an ammo pickup system, not well documented, but it still works.
Rykuta made some support files waaaaay back for the exact purpose of helping random people create weapons with ease.

The support files can be downloaded from here and are commented well enough for anybody to understand. There's also an example gun file included in the support package that shows you the format that can be followed.

Rykuta also made some assets and datablocks that basically makes it so much easier to write more guns, since you don't have to make the datablocks yourself. Link here.

If you need further help I might be able to get you in contact with Rykuta, as he really good at scripting weapons himself. PM me if you're interested.

I've done basic weapon implementation in the game before, but I feel it's better if an experienced coder did the whole thing instead since they'd know 100% of what's going on anyway. I wouldn't want to make their job harder by screwing something up in syntax or organisation.

I've sent you a PM in case you didn't get it.

Can I see some of your previous work, if possible? I'm not sure where to look.

I can definitely do some smooth animations

Trogtor is a literal god at animation

I am an OK coder. But I am familiar with state sequences. If you need some proof that I am an OK coder. I coded the warfare pack and the weapons for breach & enter. I am very good with sounds. So I can contribute sounds.

are you using some kind of motion capture method, or keying all those by hand? :o

Do you have a video or something where you can demonstrate?

It all sounds (ahah) great. I'm hoping the sounds for the guns would be "sharper", and that the explosive weapon sounds packed a bit more punch. Meanwhile, the animations I'm going for are animated on the model too, I'm assuming you're aware.

Looking forward to your sound demo.

all keyed by hand. I've been practicing animation since I was 8 and I'm no stranger to it
