It's easy to sit behind a computer screen and judge people you don't know based off of interactions with a small, annoying minority.
But if you actually get to know people you'll see they're just people with an interest

provide a comprehensive psychological report on how the personality traits you observe are directly caused by liking a television show. i expect it on my desk by 8PM

liking anything is the result of your person, not the other way around. it is the result of the sum of all personal life experience and one's cultural environment and there is one million percent no way to accurately say "people that like x are terrible people objectively." it is a logically impossible and ridiculous notion because you're going to be dealing with a ludicrously large collection of individuals that all have unique experiences, and therefore unique personalities, and there is no way that you can definitively characterise every single one of these people by any trait other than "likes x"

it is exclusively the result of a natural need for humans to simplify information and find patterns where none exist. don't fall victim to your brain dude it's tricking you

maybe people calling it a phase is because for some reason they legitimately pity people for being part of a group, and somewhere deep inside they desire their well-being so they hope that eventually they'll realise the error of their ways and stop liking a television show
