Author Topic: Blockland Add-Ons Channel - The Revival Discussion  (Read 1695 times)

A while ago I created a channel called Blockland Add-Ons (link here), it's concept was to make videos to showcase add-ons, but sadly due to life problems and lack of inspiration it faded away and collected dust, but since a lot of players asked me about it and me noticing the big potential it has, I decided that I will bring it back to life with more powerful support, here is a few things I have in mind for it:
- Guest players presenting the Add-Ons by having their Blockhead avatars and voice acting in it.
- Reveal new Add-Ons provided by players to give it more attention and popularity on the community.
- Help providing more players for Add-Ons that uses some sort of service (Blockland Glass for example)
- Give it a new style with more direct and more professional-like production like how the Pixel Spells video with TurnipBlog was made, without making unnecessary silly lines and stuff like the Delete Launcher video (this one will be remade later)

Okay that's cool and all but you might be asking why I made a topic about this, well I really wanted to know your thoughts about bringing it back, and I wanted to see if there is anyone who is interested to help with the channel by providing new add-ons and be a guest in the video by voice acting, credits will be included and your blockhead will be in the video showcasing the add-on, also this is not a review channel, just showcase, I also wanted to know if you guys want to see this channel alive again, if you're interested feel free to leave a reply.

You should bring it back, looks like a unique and enjoyable idea.

The first 2 videos were nice, I think you should bring it back.

I think there should be an occasional joke here and there, but overall a moderately serious and no bs video.

I think you should skip the whole pairing blockland avatars with voice actors. Seems like a lot of work with very little value added. I'd much rather watch a video where the person is just narrating a video of the addon being used, seems more professional.

I'd come on to discuss my star wars pack should I ever finish it.
It's not a lot of work, it's just a way to make it different.

Continue it as is, but if there aren't already, add a few jokes in an episode.
Also be sure to do the most American and silly commercial for the Mini Nuke ever, for an April Fool's video, if you get your hands on it.

I didn't mean to be completely serious from now on, just more well done like the video TurnipBlog is in, and in the same video there are a few funny parts.

I liked it since I could learn about add-ons without actually having to download and test them. However, it was a bit of work for little payout I imagine.

Is there anyone here who voice acts which is interested to participate?

this channel is actually needed cause it could help players get more interested in add-one and we really need that right now

just make sure you actually talk about the downsides of the add-ons instead of just being like 'yes this add-on is cool is has nothing wrong with it at all'

It's not like that, the videos are planned to just show the add-on functionality and features, not saying that it's the best or the worst compared to others.

That's what I meant by showcase, which does not mean is a "positive-only review"
