If somebody gets banned do they get another chance or are they banned forever?

Depends on the rule broken and how many times it has happened

bans can be of different lengths
most of the time it's 1 week, 2 weeks or perma
if you're perma'd you can buy another account

depends on their history here
usually it's 4 bans that you get another chance and then your fifth is a perma for your first account at least

Minor rules will only get you a week or two. Pleading for sympathy, spamming research, and such will get you permanently banned.

If you feel you deserve another chance at the forums, you are free to purchase as many chances as you would like.

Note that if you continue to be an idiot, you will be rebanned and I will not feel sorry for you.

I think the first ban is 1 week. Not sure about the rest though, as i've only been banned once.
I think it may depend on the action.
