Author Topic: PORT FORWARDING HELP!!!  (Read 2403 times)

OMG! I've asked like 6 times and sent BadSpot a PM and no one is helping D;

When i change the IP address for my wireless device, it doesn't connect to the internet. I got the port forward section in the router admin section to work but then I go to change the IP and it doesnt load any web pages..

Change... the IP.... why? Am I missing something here?

You might not need a static IP to host. I don't.

Can you tell me if Colten's Test Server is up

Open a second BL. You can check from there.

So I have my wireless card set to automatically find my IP but I set the port Forwarding IP to 192.168.1.45?

You need to change to static IP

You need to change to static IP
http://www.whatsmyip.org

That IP? Is that the one I set type into the port forwarding box?

You have an internal and external IP. That website will give you your external IP. You need to forward ports to your internal IP and if you haven't made it static, you will have to reenter that IP every time you connect to the router (or it could get the same IP anyways depending on your config). If you map your MAC address to an IP you can always have the same IP when reconnecting and therefore not have to reset your ports. Static IP settings are normally in advanced settings. To get your MAC address, right click on my computer and click properties, I think it is somewhere in those menus, maybe not.

So I enter the Ip address from WAN or LAN?

I'm not sure which is which O.o Are you talking about forwarding ports or setting a static IP?

Forwarding ports, I have no idea what IP to set it to
