Author Topic: My friend made a short film about depression  (Read 2635 times)

Very nice cinematography.

It's very good, but the impression of it that I got was this:

Depression is something that can have a great influence over one's life;

It just doesn't seem finished.  It was well-produced, but what's the conclusion?  Like this could be a very poignant and top-notch video, but it's just lackluster.

when ur texting at luncheon with the lads and the teach whine at you

I agree though, he just drops his phone and the credits roll.

I've suffered from anxiety and depression myself.
I just felt like i had to get that out there in the right thread

All of this.

I hope that there is more views, depression can get very serious. Everyone needs to be aware of depression and scucide

Depression Quest did it better ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

so is the kid dead or
We'll never know...

this.
what camera did he use?
I asked him, and got this:

- We shot in 2K Apple ProRes 4444 (24,60 and 200fps).
- We shot on an Arri Amira.
- We used Zeiss CP.2's as glass.
- We used a Floatcam to get the majority of the slow moving inwards shots.
- We used an EasyRig 2.5 for the majority of the handheld shots, teamed up with a desk chair for some shots at the school.
- We used three LED panels for lighting.
- We used two Rode NTG-2's for the background audio, although there was not much of it.
- We used an O'Connor 1030D tripod and head.
- We used a Ronford Baker Heavy Duty tall tripod for the Floatcam.
- We used an Arri FF4 for the follow focus.
- We hired a Decimator II to convert the SDi signal from the camera to HDMI for monitoring (DID NOT WORK).
- We edited the film in Adobe Premier Pro CC
- We graded the film in Davinci Resolve 12
- We emulated the film in filmconvert (inside Davinci Resolve)

that's one forget of a budget
I'd be lying if I said he wasn't spoiled.

this really could've been better if there was an actual ending to it rather than people confusingly questioning if the kid is dead or not
