Imperial doesn't even make sense.

I usually use imperial in general conversation but I like to try to use metric as much as possible mentally. Re-learning a set of measurements is really hard.

I've grown familiar with Imperial, but I wish I learned Metric.

I think 72 inches sounds nicer than 182.88(183) cm, but I find myself using metric more often for mass and volume measurements in my day to day life.

Imperial is good for practical common use like its easier to say someone is 5 feet tall and understand it than 1.52 meters or 152 centimeters tall. Metric is better for everything else though because its base 10 and makes a whole lot more sense when doing measurements or something.

as an american idk why we have to use a different system

For this post I was referencing my height, 6 feet 2 inches, and accidentally thought that was 72 inches when it should be 74 and a corresponding 187.96(188) cm. I guess this is a good reason to use metric over imperial for measurements...

Imperial for common use, metric when the numbers actually matter (I.e. measurements).
tru
I'm gonna measure miles in miles and feet in feet but scientists and mathematicians can do whatever the hell they want

Metric because it's easier to do base 10 math.

Base 10 is way simpler than base whatevertheforgetitis

metric is way easier but imperial is what murica uses so i go with that

And if anyone else here is a swimmer I'm sure you can understand the frustration of dealing with, "Is this a 25 yard or 25 meter pool?"

So you know what forget Imperial all it does is make my life harder.

"Is this a 25 yard or 25 meter pool?"

You have no idea how much this pisses me off

It's a pain in the richard converting back and forth in engineering courses so definitely metric.

I prefer Imperial for commonplace measurements under most circumstances, but I prefer metric for scientific purposes as well as more precise measurements, since I'd rather just measure in millimeters rather than think about and say that such and such is 1/16"
