No worries it's fixed now!

Rule of flying. Don't be a loving handicap and obey the rules and procedures
Yes, but sometimes this only gets you so far as my experience attests.

I've only flown once as an adult, but have flown about 4 or 5 times as a child. Couldn't really tell you what those experiences were like.

When I flew as an Adult it was all fine leaving from Britain.
We left from Bristol however, which is a significantly smaller airport than any of the London ones, like Heathrow or Gatwick.
On the way out there were no problems. Emptied my items onto the tray, and walked through the scanner with no problems.

On the way back, from Rome's Fiumicino airport was a little more awkward.
All my stuff went on the tray and through fine.
But then as I went through the scanner it beeped, and I had to walk back through.
Then it beeped as he sent me through once more.
Then I had to take off my shoes, which was awkward, because they're both double-knotted, and take what seems like an eternity (or does when you have 50 irate Italians behind you) to take off.
Anyway, I walked through holding them in front of me this time, it beeped as they went through, and then the guards let me carry on.

So, in other words, no issue at all.
But it makes you nervous eitherway.
And there were no problems with the fact that I had a dagger stored in my suitcase.

I actually looked up what's allowed on airplanes for a forum game that I'm running to make it more realistic for the character to board an aircraft. As it turns out, most things (with the exception of flammables and explosives) are allowed on airplanes but only as baggage that is not accessible to passengers. Carry-on luggage is extremely strict though. You'll get hell if you try bringing things like tools (Maxwell has to stay in the baggage compartment), cigarette lighters, scissors, card knives, etc.

I've never been on an airplane :c

it's like a game of Clue

Chances of dying in a plane crash are around 1 in 8 million.
Chances of dying in a car crash are around 1 in 8 thousand.

Planes are 1000x (three orders of magnitude) safer than cars to ride in.

yeah but ive seen the show Mayday before and that stuffs forgeted

statistics like this are handicapped. There are substantially more cars than planes and the time you will spend in cars is significantly higher than time you will spend in planes. so ya no stuff you're more likely to die in a car

it's like when people say "you're more likely to die from a deer than a shark"
again I live on land with deer not in the ocean so no stuff

Yeah, there's quite a lot you are allowed to take through with you, so long as it's in baggage.
And depending on customs of the country you're returning to.

You're allowed to bring in straight-edge blades up to a certain length in the UK.
But no curved blades, unless they're authentic japanese katanas from before a certain date (so basically, historical artefacts).
And then some more rules.

I wasn't expecting to get in trouble for having the dagger.
It's about a foot long straight blade, in a metal scabbard.
And it was then wrapped in socks and things (not to hide it, but to make sure it couldn't possible be a danger), and placed in the very middle of my suitcase.

I hide my weed in socks when i fly

I figured you'd be the sort to hide it in your bum.

what? why would I stick something up my bum? This is a weird assumption you are making

I was almost not let on a plane once because my grandmother refused to throw away a can of clam chowder she was bringing home from San Francisco

Did they allow her to bring it on in the end?
