Author Topic: Steam Escrow - new steam trading feature that could kill bot trading  (Read 10520 times)

are you actually handicapped? of course they don't like bots. that's why they're loving doing it. are you a scammer? is that why you're complaining? you can't scam anymore?
I was gonna stuff on you but then you edited your post

anyway I loving hate this system because I don't have a smartphone. Don't wanna spend 200$ on a stuffty phone that you'll only use for texting people? Well forget you bucko here at steam we'd rather inconvenience you for "security" like the American airline system. Do you actually have a phone but don't want to download the app? Well shove that up your ass you loving wank.

TL;DR Clownfish can't afford a smartphone and valve thinks he can

the steam mobile app is absolute garbage by the way. definitely one of the worst ever made

Are you not likely to get scammed by a bot?

I admit, I don't really trade things in Steam, except to friends.
I never used one since they crap out on me, but I guess if you're unlucky enough they might scam you

I don't have to use my phone to authenticate my steam

is that, like, their last ditch effort to get people to use their garbage mobile app?

what's wrong with the steam authenticator, i haven't used it

if it didnt require the steam authenticator i'd probably like it. i'd rather have verified and steam ran middlemans for trading rather than some dirtbag i find on the steamrep page

What happens to the poor people who DON'T have a phone?

I think the idea of needing to have both parties verify a trade after it goes through later is probably a good idea; obviously it makes the process more tedious but it just protects against scams more than inconveniences anyone.

Course you should always have the option to choose how you want to verify something and even if you want to at all; if you don't care then you can turn it off.

Seems like that isn't what they're doing though; and since I don't have a phone that can actually do some kind of steam verification thing; this sucks for me lol, good thing I never trade anything ever if I can help it.

Steam really tries to kill trading

forget's sake, bots keep everything easy, now i can get back to finding individual users selling a couple of hats for a set and take 30 minutes just to put together a joke set.
Trade offers are also forgeted because when you are offering let's say 3 refined that 3 refined will stay in your inventory so if you offer on something else but accidentaly use one of the refined in that offer that offer gets canceled, then you gotta go back to outpost and find the whole trade again.

I have an android, but this sucks richard. I feel bad for people without the proper phone.
