Author Topic: WHat are some little known tips and tricks you know?  (Read 3918 times)

What are some tips and tricks you think many other players may not know or immediately realize? I am building a tutorial based build and I am wonder what else one might want to know that I have not already included. One example is that most FX paints cause a brick to be invisible when viewed through transparent bricks. Anybody else know any small things like that? I will take bigger tips as well if you have any you think might be helpful. This can include commands.

right click on a brick in the bricks menu to have it automatically queued up without adding it in a slot

this blew my mind when i first heard about it a couple months ago

serverconnection.chasecam(9999999999); places your third person camera in a fixed position for the time specified in milliseconds, allowing you to move about as if someone else was filming you. It's really useful for creating videos.

EDIT: Typing steamGreenLightGui.clickForwa rd(); into the console grants you the ability to use the /greenlight anywhere you want, giving you a green light that most players don't know of.

buildwall(); builds a wall

chucknorris(); lets you put a brick inside of another brick

Holding the walk key (C) while jetting allows you to move forward really fast while either slightly gaining or losing altitude instead of dropping right to the ground.
Disabling strafe steering allows you to get finer control on your steering, and also allows you to independently roll/steer. Your mouse is used to control your steering and A/D is used to control your roll.
Supershifting in general.
Macros.

Pre-v21, stacking differently colored transreparent baseplates then having a single layer of transparent white 1x1 plates on top would create a circular gradient that would follow you around

Hasn't worked since v21, so this information is probably useless to most people

oh man I did that once long ago

That gradient thing never showed up that smooth for me.

buildwall(); builds a wall
buildconfetti(); builds confetti

buildconfetti(); builds confetti
buildfloor(); builds a floor

buildfloor(); builds a floor
how many of these are there?
I think theres one for stairs too

at this point all of the tricks I know have become basically habits but sometimes I notice many new players don't do these things, I'd have to spur of the moment do one of these things to remember what they are

You can make one way walls by turning one wall into a pearl FX then have a transparent brick on the otherside.
