Author Topic: My dog might have ate a chicken bone  (Read 1992 times)

Oh it's fine. You can cure it by dousing yourself in kerosene and setting yourself on fire in the streets thinking before you do anything questionable. And then of course, if you do something stupid, you don't have to post about it and we'll never even know in the first place.

Just use common sense.

The worst thing that could happen is that your dog may have a bleeding mouth / blood in the stool. My dog would find bones out in the forest all the time and pretty much swallow them whole. It just seems to be chalked up to a stupid dog thing

If she starts having problems with eating, whining too much or just plain being in pain, you might want to have her get a check up but I doubt it might amount to anything that bad.

Yeah, your dog may pass it with no real problem, or may not have even ingested it, if they ran off with it and you haven't seen it.

Keep an eye on her stool to see if it has any blood in it.
The main danger with chicken bones is that they can shatter easily, and the shards can be sharp in a dogs belly, or in their mouth and cut them.
If they continue to be lethargic or sickly, then take them to the vet.
Chances are if your dog is tired, they may just have exhausted themselves the day before. My dog does this, having hyperactive days followed by days where he just wants to lounge around.

I also advise that you avoid scraping food off into your bin in your room, or leaving it at a height the dog the can get to.
A nice tall kitchen bin is usually best, with a lid.

OP is a known pathological liar. I bet this is just another story.

My dog literally eats chicken necks, bones and all, for breakfast and dinner, its actually healthy for them

Just look for blood in their poop, that means internal bleeding. Go to a vet if you find blood
same goes for if your dog is acting more like a old dog instead of a puppy
