Author Topic: PC Almost Completely Died  (Read 1743 times)

Okay, this has gone bad to worse.
Yesterday, I got 2 BSoDs trying to play Blockland, which is unusual because I can run BL at full shaders.
At first, all it was, was getting the server list, and BSoD! Then second was playing on my server and there is a map change, BSoD!! After the startup of the second BSoD, Windows did a Disk scan and repair, I let it be. After that startup, everything was screwed up, I couldn't start one application. So I restart and it is back to normal.

This afternoon, I startup my PC and it paused at the loading bit before login, so I restarted it, my PC was also making some noise. Now, when I had logged in and that crap, I tried starting up PuTTY (something to see my server from Blocknet) and before I know it, BSoD. Error is scary: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
It's never a good thing when you see something died on your PC.

So uhh, WHAT TO DO!!??

If your PC was making a lot of physical noise and Windows ran chkdsk after rebooting from the BSOD your hard drive might be stuffting the bed. You're running a classical spinning disk hard drive and not a solid state drive right?

I have a second hard drive, possibilities that I could switch them?
And have my second one run Windows?

can you give us some specs, what is your operating system as well?

My specs are here:
An old pic but will do

And my OS is Windows 10, not 8

And my OS is Windows 10,
well see, here is your first problem.
anyways, windows 10 often displays this message if your cpu is being overloaded with processes, hence why this happens when you play games. try launching your computer into safe mode, then run blockland and other applications that cause your computer to crash.

EDIT: oh also, if your cpu is being overloaded when this happens, it will cause your cpu fans to go faster, causing that noise your pc makes. you most likely need to upgrade your cpu or you have some really resource intense application running in the background.

I never launched any application this afternoon, I logged in and tried to double click something but then BSoD

applications can set themselves to startup automatically, you don't need to launch anything. launching into safe mode like i suggested will only run the basic drivers. in the event that it doesn't crash, you probably have some virus/process running in the background.

Oh yeah, but they never usually crash me.

Otherwise, I finally got to boot up normally.
I am going to do virus scan right now

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED is usually attributed to dllhost or something similar crashing; a process that Windows cannot run without and cannot restart normally if it crashes. If it's happening persistently and sporadically then it's possible that your OS install may be corrupted, try repairing (or "refreshing") your install.

Well crap, my PC is getting from bad to worse, again.
I can't play one second of ROBLOX and after BSoD, I tried logging back in and it took forever and stuck me in a temporary account. All I simply did was press the Windows key.

make sure this isnt a hardware problem, like your cpu or gpu overheating
also make sure the hard drive isnt making any unusual noises

also make sure the hard drive isnt making any unusual noises
It is.

All!? How about the only ones I need?
(Which I think is pretty much nothing)
