usually when I do open fours I do the last line right on the end of the first line unlike in the poll, otherwise it's long and weird to me.

it seems like doing the open-ended 4 is similar to doing the close-ended 4, only you need to lift your hand up for a brief moment after the first line

i only do the close-ended 4 in my technical drawing class where it's required, but everywhere else the good ol' open ended 4 is what i use
