Author Topic: Metal Detecting. (Formerly UPS rant)  (Read 1401 times)

I had a package that was due to come in today, it said before 8pm. So I wait and at 7:30 I hear the UPS truck outside, I run outside just to find the driver quickly trying to speed off. I even shouted to them and they just took off. Didn't even bother leaving a notice, not even sure if they got out of their truck.
UPS is pathetic, they must enjoy hiring stuffty drivers. In my experience we've had a total of 2 packages completely lost. Not even delivered, period

After discussing with UPS I was able to locate my package, it was at my neighbors. I ordered a metal detector and originally planned on making a topic to discuss it.
My property is said to have been used as a civil war medical grounds, I hope to find something good on this property.  I have a neighbor down the road who metal detects so I'm considering discussing it with him for some tips

ups is absolute garbage. I always prefer usps. Fast, on time shipping and a lot cheaper too.

The quality of UPS like most mailing services seems to differ in areas, mine is pretty fine but I mean I saw that one video where a UPS driver literally went over the front lawn in the van and just dropped the package.

Holy loving stuff... He came back and did it again. No notice either. That time I came outside and yelled for them twice... They drove down the road, stopped, then went off again

I checked the delivery status and they put down it was delivered. The package is no where to be seen. Good going UPS... I guess I'll ask around to see if someone else somehow got it

Bump, I finally got it. I called UPS and it was dropped off at the wrong house in a hurry. My neighbors watched over it until I claimed it.
I am now the owner of a metal detector, once I get batteries I'm going to be able to check my yard. (Going ot convert this to a metal detecting thread)

Don't metal detect you fool you might find government secrets

wait until you have to deal with the hell that is fedex

So far between the two I've only had one instance of this. Turns out it was literally a house down. The hardest part was me finding the right number to call.
My guess is that black-friday rush had them going everywhere. It was the regular UPS driver for up here so I know it wasn't laziness. She has never let me down before.

It makes sense considering it was dark and stormy, I'd want to get the hell out too.

My dad works at ups and he has to work all week due to cyber Monday and  Christmas 8 hours + a lot of overtime. Give them some slack. those trucks are loving behemoths and a pain to drive

i like the usps because I've ordered stuff from western Canada and it arrived at my house in like two days
and it was only $5 to ship

I stated above what had happened. I'm not bashing them (anymore)

I ordered 10 day shipping through UPS recently for an order and got my package in 2 days.

I'm expecting the batteries for my metal detector (and a headset yay). This time the driver should realize their mistake because I reported it. I'll be outside this time when it gets late

USPS always delivers earlier and is overall generally better than UPS in my area

UPS, FedEx, and USPS are all good where I live.

What sucks though is when UPS or FedEx transfers the package to USPS for delivery and it takes forever.
