Author Topic: 16x Harvest Medieval Peasant Houses  (Read 2266 times)

Since 16x houses are popular now I figured I'd show you how it's really done. Most of them aren't finished but still pretty decent in their unfinished state.

*takes jaw off and puts it on the ground*
oops my jaw dropped

I'll be honest here. There is a lot of 8x16 houses too. Not one house is a full 16x16.

I want to make a giant village full of these for a TDM

I want to make a giant village full of these so I can load it up every once in a while, make it into some game, then forget to save it

With your permission I would like to use these in a build of mine. I can give you credit if you wish. Will there be a way to download these when they are finished or can you email me a save file?

I was actually going to make a very large town with these type of buildings and put it on the outskirts of my giant ass castle.

I'm trying to finish the toy store right now but if you want to come in and make some buildings I might put them in the castle.

They have to be 16x though, not many people can make 16x lol.

i understand you're going for that old english look on the black / white houses, but they don't really fit in blockland
imo, at least

Because they are lego design.

Tudor style beams can be quite difficult on Blockland, because often the bricks are too big for them, or they are built into the wall and lose a lot of texture, or are built one brick out and look too fake.

Also, the dark colour can be hard to do properly in Blockland and retain it's appearance as a wooden beam.

Small-bricks can work really well however, provided you have a large enough wall to decorate.
If the wall is too small, then your beams are too close and look funny.

I think I did fine with the houses. I do better with castles anyways.

These are like higher tier peasant houses, I tried not using too much detail. (Excluding the first picture, that's a general store)

They're pretty good, they just suffer from the inability to express texture on account of Blocklands fixed gridsize and the size of blocks.
It becomes difficult to make the wooden beams seem distinct from the plaster.

I've built several medieval builds in essentially the same style as yours, and they all have the same issue.
