Author Topic: Where did badspot get the default music from?  (Read 5494 times)

i think that the printer sound was also royalty-free or something? i remember somebody made a topic about hearing it in a song
pretty sure the printer sound is fairly simple and it wouldn't be hard to accidentally recreate it

I asked Baddy a while back about After School Special and he said this:

Quote from: Badspot's PM
It's from a royalty free sound effects CD I bought in compUSA in like 1995.
It's part of some other sound effect libraries too, that's why it shows up in other places sometimes.

I remember accidentally making the printer noise with my hands

Bricks... Stock sound or a really easy sound to make.

Super Shift Bricks... The sound was just made more lower pitched. (Note:The sound im talking about is not used.)

How did you manage to do that?

I think I rubbed them together really hard and they bounced like shoes do if you rub your heel across a gym floor

some of them have metadata left in

apparently the light on, bodyremove, exitwater, splash sounds was first made in 1997
the clickplant sound and all the synth4 sounds were made in 1998
the 'banned.wav' sound has a comment whch says 'military alert'
the jump sound has a comment which says 'cartoon-like twang sound'
it seems that all of the sounds were made in a piece of software called 'goldwave', as shown by this message in the wav files:
Code: (Synth4_07) [Select]
Synth4 note 7 ICOP   Aludra Software 1998  ISFT5   GoldWave (C) Chris S. Craig, http://www.goldwave.com  ICRD    1998-05-04  IENG   Martin Dolgener
for the music, I can't find anything

I think I rubbed them together really hard and they bounced like shoes do if you rub your heel across a gym floor

The hell are your hands made of? Nylon?

I'm listening to sounds as old as I am wow that's pretty cool.

I think I was sweaty, I was only at my computer desk though

After school special comes from a spanish song about masturbating, but I cant remember the name or a link to it

Found it

I have my doubts about that being the origin of the song.
This isn't the main origin from the song, but this is where the song is widely known for.
