Author Topic: Zapk-Abusing slayer to crash servers  (Read 23516 times)

Somebody explain for me what the relation between this incident and Gamemode_Slayer is.
Nothing to worry about, the exploit wasn't in slayer. It was in VCE, abusing the fact that the getWords function used to crash if given certain input.

Oh my goodness zapk. you spam the master server twice, make exploits in your add-ons, and now this?

i dont want to start anything here but....

that was because of zapk fyi

that was because of zapk fyi
what do you mean
zapk spammed the server and tried to pin it on jeetlor, or jeetlor spammed the master server because of zapk?

jeetlor was running a server with one of the vulnerable addons
zapk joined jeetlors server and ran a small script which caused it to spam the master server

zapk used the exploit to list jeetlors server like that

holy stuff was that thing recently

since this is still topic is still relevant, i sent this to badspot not so long ago

the title was "Zapk already back?"

I checked the name and it's taken -- could've been someone else who snagged it though.

Recent search of IDs that have used 'Zapk' in their name.

I don't know if he's on someone else's keys or just playing single-player; you might want to investigate anyways.

zapk already said in my teamspeak that he has a new key
he said hes under different IP and is laying low
when xeidious asked for the ID i told him "what do you think he will actually give it to you?"
sure enough, zapk refused to give it

i doubt zapk is dumb enough to actually use the same name

Are names actually made available again when a key is revoked? I didn't think they were?

The key is essentially erased so yes.

Are you just guessing at how the system works or do you actually know?

The name is made available upon revoking, I can confirm this.
