Author Topic: How well does your computer run really large (like 254k brick) builds?  (Read 1637 times)

I'm just curious if using something like Sylvanor's Utopia or Seattle is ever a pheasable option or if too many people simply wouldn't be able to play.

With my current BL settings, I would be able to run 254k bricks at about 60 or even above. Unless I bump up the anti aliasing, then it might be a bit slower

Oh nice.

I'm currently on Seattle in BL with shaders on low and max viewing distance getting just under thirty most of the time.

With my current BL settings
which would be.... what
any answer is kinda useless if you don't know the settings

It largely depends if I'm using shadows or not. W/shadows i clock in at roughly 48 with occasional hiccups. It's smooth without shadows on max though.

254k bricks can really vary your performance depending what kind of stuff your build has. for an example, prop bricks and item spawns can really be the difference between 5 fps and 45 fps with 200k bricks.

That's because with cubic(and some others) bricks, some of the faces are hidden when adjacent to other bricks. But with prop bricks, there are little or no faces that get hidden.

i think I ran around 30 fps on Seattle on minimum shader settings

yeah of course, this is why I really like sticking with default bricks

0-9 fps. That will change when I get my new laptop for christmas, which should get 60 or above with no shaders and max draw distance

24 FPS with max soft-ish shaders, 90 without shaders.

If you don't wanna these issues, just make sure to avoid useless bricks on your build. I know many peoples what use bricks of a exaggerated form causing a memory waste.

Alright, well the general concensus seems to be that most people would be able to play.

0-9 even with shaders off and maximum render distance set to 50(i think that's the lowest)
