source? cuz he's been opposed to nsa spying, trans pacific partnership (super long copyrights, patents, companies can sue countries for regulating, etc), etc etc for a while now. Seems pretty libertarian to me.

Libertarians don't want a bunch of government programs like Bernie does.. Libertarians want the federal government to have as little power as possible, and to have local governments take care of those kinds of issues or the free market in general. Something Sanders is very much against.

Just because he's against certain draconian laws doesn't mean he isn't an authoritarian.

Alright yeah I see what you mean. But it's not just that one property that goes into that calculation. There are other kinds of social political views that go into this as well. I'd say all in all it would probably meet somewhere in the middle or a little below.

libertarianism is just characterised by valuing freedom over pretty much everything else. that tends to mean less government but that's not specifically what it's about. if the government can be used to protect freedom, libertarians would probably be all over that poopy woopy. i tend to be moderately libertarian personally for some issues but i'm a whiny liberal so i more so value equality. bernie seems to be in the same boat in that respect
