Oh do I hate stuffty sneaky subscription crap.

So last year I signed up for PS Plus right. I had no intent to renew right now. I went onto the playstation store and I went into account settings and I turned auto renew off. You figure turning it off on the official webpage would work, right?

Nope, in order to fully cancel you have to make sure PS Plus auto renew is off on your VITA, PS3 and PS4. So you have to log into all 3 devices (if you have them) to make sure the setting is off. That bullstuff on their website is a lie. So I had 50 dollars withdrawn from my account.


I signed up for a 1 month only subscription for loot crate. They charged me again for the next month. Apparently I didn't see where you had to cancel because the loving cancel button is in small light grey text over a white background.


Beware this stuff.

How many of you knew you have to sign into all playstation devices manually to cancel your PS PLus before this?

I don't own any Sony stuff except for my old ps2, but it seems like PS plus is kind of bad compared to gold. And I also use lootcrate, and when you're signing up for a subscription box, there's going to be recurring charges. The option to cancel or skip is fairly hard to locate, but not all that hard.

i unsubbed from ps+ on my ps4 and i logged into the psn account on my ps3 and i didnt have to unsub from both consoles.

Have you tried contacting either company and explaining the situation?

No guarantees you'll get more than an apology, but it's worth a try.

Those options mean you get charged every month, 3 months, 6 months or year. I thought that at first too, but it makes sense.

Apparently it turns on the subscription renew on the device you recently used.

I emailed support and I am currently requesting a refund for this bullstuff. I explained to them I went onto their website, went into accounts and turned off auto-renew manually like their website said.


The don't offer refunds if you fail to do this. I did it exactly that, I even double checked and it still said auto renew is off. So it's their loving fault. That's sneaky stuff.

I can't get a refund on loot crate that is however 100% my fault. I asked to have my account and credit card information taken away.

They said my credit card information will be taken away but it will still be on my profile seen by me, yeah right!

Well you can't chargeback or yell at your bank to dispute, because they'll ban your account.
