Author Topic: how do people's avatars affect your perception of the poster?  (Read 2944 times)

usually the gender of the avatar makes me assume things. Beyond that i don't really think much of it.

I think I know people by avatar, until I go into a topic like BLF movie posters, or Jairos BLF uni topic, and it's an image with avatars and no names and I have no loving clue who anyone is.

fireking used to have an amazing avatar, and he could do no wrong, but since he changed it I'm indifferent towards him
also I don't like blockhead avatars. it seems really childish to me. so I guess in that case I'll assume you're on the young side

i'm really loving frustrated all the time and slightly enraged

really annoying avatar and it triggered my annoyed bias against you prior to this discussion
i am upset
hey man back off >:(((

I probably seem like a total neckbeard with my avatar, but it's from an inside joke from something from then Community Projects.

meh ive grown used to it

I like foxsquach's avatars the most since they don't scream I'M A FURRY, SEE?!!??

Also it's weird af when someone doesn't use an avatar, like trinick lol

depends on if they have a lame avatar. like, look at this one.

I just use the avatar to know who is who.

if its a avatar related to a something i like thats cool but otherwise i dont pay much attention

stupid people have stupid avatars

pretty simple system, I think

I only use avatars to know who is posting because sometimes avatars don't match the tone of someone's posts. Take Headcrab Zombie for example, if I judged him based on avatar I would swear he was never serious.

Avatars just help me identify posters more quickly

this

A person's avatar doesn't necessarily make up my perception of them, but if their avatar is stupid and I dislike their personality, then it will make my opinion lower than if they didn't have a stupid avatar. Same with good avatars and people I like.
