also pretty rude to stick chopsticks in food, rather than just laying them flat after eating

yeah its rude to stick chopsticks in food because sticking chopsticks in food is a ritual done as an offering of food for the dead i think

I've seen it go either way with some chefs. I like it on the side to keep it more pungent but mixing them is fine too.

Also I think it's funny when I'm at Asian places in the city and see white people, who think they're so socially progressive by eating ethnic food, completely fail to use their chopsticks properly by holding them more than half way down and looking like they're mangling their dish.

I usually put a little soy sauce on the side and dip the rolls into the sauce with my hand. I eat it at home because it's too embarrassing to do outside. 

Also you know what's good? Whole Foods sushi. I've never been a sushi connoisseur, and I'm still not one, however Whole Foods uses pretty fresh stuff and I trust it. Their spicy salmon avocado rolls are excellent.
