I refuse to watch any of these previews or clips, it'll either get me excited for nothing due to these long hiatuses, spoil me on future plotlines, or put me in the middle of a plot where i'll have no idea what's going on or what the context is

As much as i like this show, the scheduling and pacing of this show is torment when you just want to see what happens next

keep in mind that the clips released at comicons are official previews, not leaks. they are specifically chosen by the crew to give you a taste of what's coming without revealing too much about the contents of the upcoming episodes

ya it's got the whole 2D entities in 3D environment thing goin on, and there are defo similarities in the style of everything too

i'm p sure they looked at paper mario for inspiration for the series, cus attack the light had very paper mario-esque combat. seems like they're changing things up a lil bit this time but the style is the same
