Cathedral inspired Castle (WIP)

I suggest a full-on cathedral, as you said, but on a much larger scale. This build is wonderful.

The build is nice but the colors aren't that great

Az is at risk of being out-done. I agree on colours, the blue battlements put me off, aside from that it's awesome. Nice place to put it too. :)

Parts of it look really macroed/duped, but I don't care! That is amazing! 9/10. What do you still have to do?
Who cares if something looks macroed or duped. For certain parts of a build, like terrain, macroing everything looks bad, but this is a structure. Basically your saying that if he doesn't build everything brick by brick than it's a bad thing? Macroing and duplicating are there for convenience, so that you CAN replicate certain pieces of it. It's like saying that a build looks bad because you macroed the windows, but it would look stupid if you made every window different.

Anyways, amazing build! I love it, especially that stain glass window.

I expected nothing less from you, Glen. :cookieMonster:

WOW
It looks like somehting just out of a lego set!
Only thing I can complain about is the lack of stuff in the great hall area.
9.75/10!
haha. there were NEVER any lego sets that were this good...

i love the way you use the different angles of inclined bricks to get the impression of the slope or curve or whatever. :) i love the parts where you used the points getting increasingly higher... great effect. i wish idve thought of it.

how old are you? if you dont mind me asking. :)

WOW!!!!! Makes me want to scrap the castle I've been working on.

Thanks, I’ve been trying to keep it visually interesting and playable while trying to limit rubber stamping too much.

Things I want to do:
Additional architectural and decorative elements within the main building no matter which way the floor plan ends up (triforum (triple arches between the arches), art, furniture, fixtures, accents, lights).
Additional buildings within and outside the walls like more shops, service buildings, etc. (some will be left empty or near empty on purpose).
A gallows or guillotine
Changing the layout of the main building tower stairwells for the 12,000th time
Anti rooms, chapels, Easter eggs

Fantastic build, I would add some church-style pews if that were me though.

I’ve been working with the mindset of a converted cathedral castle. I may do a couple iterations, one as a king’s castle and one as a straight up cathedral. No promises.

9.75/10!

Thanks, I still have a lot more to go there.

I completely agree on the colors. I’m going to stick to the default pallet for now, but I’m not thrilled with my color choices at the moment either. These may change.

I’ve been referring to photos of actual cathedrals for inspiration (this is not intended to be a duplicate of any).  There are several out there with elements that will translate well with Blockland bricks.
