That's not really how it works.
I mean, it could have fried it by being a stuffty power supply. But having more watts than needed, by itself, won't fry something, because the wattage rating is just a maximum available.
the power supply went bad and fried my components

it hurts me that you think im that stupid

that can happen with any power supply, wattage is irrelevant

im completely aware of this

This is a bad time to buy a new video card.
Both companies are gonna release thier new stuff in the near months.
Even if you dont care and buy anyways, that release will drop prices on everything you can get right now, thus buyers regret.

This isnt to say that risk isnt always the issue with hardware, just the price:outdating ratio is a little extra high right now.

Since your budget is so tight, i say use skylake integrated graphics for some light gaming, while you prepare to buy the new amd or nvidia st00f otw.

I really honestly do not have enough money to get a higher video card. I was shooting for $400, but I knew $500 would be better for a build. I would really rather not get an integrated graphics card..

I wonder if they're going to be releasing their new mid-range stuff or high-end stuff
if it's mid-range i might consider getting it

You are already getting one. Im saying to use it till you are prepared for a real viseo card.
Getting just anything with leftover budget now is stuff plan, whwn the budget is already so very low.

Well I mean yeah, I am getting an integrated graphics card with the motherboard, but the point in video cards is to preform better than the integrated graphics card..

The integrated graphics are in the cpu.
Either way they are meant to run the display and some applications. Not games.
Well flash games maybe

I'm back with another possible build.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/7YvqTW
same performance as the 6300, even 6350

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646g3258

also AMD is coming out with the zen processors this year or early next so it may be smart to wait for that

Bump because I still need input my new suggested build.
