Author Topic: Guess who got their hands on a steam link and steam controller recently!  (Read 3096 times)

Sorry for the stuffty quality, phone cameras are arse

It's really nice to use, I'm going to be using it a lot in college when I want to play something on the big screen, like couchware games.

The controller takes a bit of getting used to, but it's actually a nifty piece of hardware.

Cool

is there a lot of noticeable lag with the steam link? i imagine it would depend a lot on the network setup but what's been your experience

who

I dunno :P

It's not good for comp play, if that's what you mean. That brief ms of input lag can screw up someone who is used to quick reactions and such, otherwise it's a pretty solid streaming device. But then again, I haven't used its ethernet port yet, I'll get back to you when I do.

So how does the Steam Controller fare compared to an Xbox 360 controller? I've been thinking about getting one.

I heard those things are crap.

You heard wrong
the original pre-release steam controller was stuff, badspot did a review on it
but this one is good

The fact that it can substitute getting a mouse and keyboard alone makes it better than getting an xbox controller.

To each his own, it just takes a little while to get used to, seeing as the right stick and d pad are actually touchpads.

Did I get one of those?

You wish you had to budget to get one :^)

Much better than the 360 controller imo. What I like most about it is how much you can customize it.

If I were to get a console it would be a PS4.

Not a streaming device.

You want a piss station four? That's so main stream...

Streaming device so you don't have to move a PC that's probably more powerful than a PS4 ;)
