Religion is a choice. I changed my decision a few years ago. If you're teaching your kids that liking a different gender is an attrocity, you're just as at fault as the people who taught you that, because you can always realize you're wrong.

I wouldn't blame the kid though, he's probably too young to think independently. The threshold here I would put at 16 to 18.

if you are currently alive, you have been exposed to many gay people, and many more who at the least think there's nothing wrong with being gay. if after all of that you still haven't done some introspection and thought about why you feel the way you do, you and you alone are at fault
