Programs used for modeling

I wanted to make some models, and, unfortunately, I'm not able to download MilkShape, a popular program used for modeling. So, I'm using a different one, and I wanted to know if it would work. Can someone tell me if meshwork files would work?

Blender is an option but its pretty complex. Its free though and has a large community to help you with it
