Author Topic: What would a "Walker Assault" gamemode be like in Blockland?  (Read 1083 times)

After playing loads of Star Wars Battlefront, I got an idea for a gamemode in Blockland. There would be 1 (or 2) walkers trying to reach a location. There would be 2 teams, Rebels and Imperials. Rebels would keep "uplinks"(Capture points which take less time to capture) online, and every 30 seconds they would get a Y-Wing(10 seconds extra) for a bombing run. The bombing run would do no damage, people would have to attack the walkers which have very heavy hp. There would be a period like this:
Uplink, Attack, Uplink, Attack, Uplink Attack.
There would be 2 uplinks, so camping would be harder, and pickups would be bricks you click with a random chance for a random item. If the time runs out and the walkers aren't blown up the Imperials win, and the round resets. If all walkers are destroyed before the end, the Rebels win and the round resets. Vehicle and hero pickups would be very possible too. Maybe even a shop would be possible, and the weapons that are buyable wouldn't be more OP than eachother, balancing eachother out in different ways. Each uplink wave would last 4 minutes, and the bombing wave depending on how many Y-Wings the Rebels got. AT ST, X-wing, tie fighter and snow-speeder pickups would be available depending on which team you are on, and you would switch teams once every match. Multiple map rotations would even be possible, yet it would take time to build each map.
The "Walkers" would be a vehicle someone could make, turned into a bot which would go at 0.2 speed and be heading for a certain area. There's probably a ton of stuff I forgot, but most of It would be possible with events, builders and a few people helping make/giving me add-ons.

Click that if you want to read up on it, remind me if there's anything I missed out.

Do you think this is a good idea?

If this didn't work I could always do a fighter squadron or heroes and villains or blast :).

you mean the one where the empire wins every time except if the rebels are really coordinated which never happens in pubs

Uhh.. The rebels don't need to coordinate. If someone become a hero, they could rush and kill everyone and take the uplink if they wanted. But working together would work. Aswell as solo players/small groups rushing.

I mean, all that's really needed would be building help and an AT AT vehicle/bot, maybe even a few blasters, but I have some blasters, just not very good ones. (Only like 5 of them)

Actually, when I play, it seems like the Rebels always win.

it felt like that in the beta, yeah.
but once people actually learned how the objective works, it seemed to balance 50/50.

Fighter Squadron would work well... if decent Star Wars vehicles existed, or you could find somebody willing to actually make some.

I have a Airspeeder, Tie and an X-Wing currently.

Are those the Block Wars ones that have broken collision, low speeds, and poor maneuverability?

yes they are

i don't know how hard it is to go into the files and fix the properties yourself. its not like the actual model has any calculative flight characteristics.

I wish somebody would make not-Lego star wars vehicles with decent handling, that would be more than JUST a snow speeder, land speeder X-wing and TIE fighter.

Yeah they are. My main problem is them being 2 seater and the fact you canf lock on using space as right click is eject and would kill you.

I also hink having some good SW vehicles could be a thing. Maybe I could give a reward.
