Author Topic: There needs to be more events and servers during European daytime  (Read 1292 times)

The problem with living in Europe and liking Blockland is that the majority of Blockland users live on the American continent, meaning that there's forget all to do when the sun shines on Europe because everyone with interesting servers is asleep/at work/at school during that 4PM-10PM (GTM+0) time.

The player count tanks to <20 and there are several empty dedicated servers that no one is playing in, meanwhile during the American hours there are 200+ players online.

I think a lot of European Blockland players have just accepted the fact that there's nothing to do and have stopped playing, but if there was a Steam group of some kind that organized the European players together and kept interesting servers and events like building competitions etc. we could keep up the amount of players and make it interesting for people outside of America.

Yeah I feel you, Australian here, pretty much the polar opposite timezone of America. Usually around 16-20 players on average, it really blows. It's extra stuffty because my ping is usually above 700 on American servers.

Yeah, it's quite a shame really. Anywhere from around morning to mid-afternoon here tends to find the server list empty.

As a shameless plug, my server is up at the moment. But I'm not doing much all that interactive. Building some terrain for a large greco-roman theme server I'm planning on making.
If anyone is interested in just freebuilding, or just wants some company, feel free to join.

lol silly europeans, you need to have GMT -3 to be able to use Blockland correctly.

sounds like you australians and uk'ers gotta spread the word about the blockland

that's gotta suck though, damn

I believe it has less to do with "Blockland doesn't appeal to commies" and more to do with "Wow this game is empty, i will now leave".

Would anyone be interested in joining a Steam Group to start organizing the events? I could create a group called "Blockland Eastern Hemisphere" abbreviated to "BLEH" and announce about servers etc.

Try to spread the game to your friends

It's a bigger issue with online games about how to get server traffic in the first place. It's a bit of a vicious cycle.

What I'm trying to do here is organize people so that we can join servers in groups or create them ourselves and join them. so that we have things to do.

You could probably spark up a steam group and have people join, then people who cared could subscribed to announcements and stuff

I need some name suggestions. Blockland - Eastern Hemisphere and it's abbreviation BLEH are pretty cool, but that means cutting Europe and Africa in half.

I think people would understand the point anyway

http://steamcommunity.com/groups/BLeasternhemisphere Here's the group then. I guess I'll ask Filipe to advertise it on his videos or something.

There's a pretty big Russian community that's run by Halmet: http://vk.com/club25688931

Russian to join the community.
